Having a tote filled with per packed snacks and activities is a must when traveling with kids. iPads with movies loaded on them doesn’t hurt either.

I’ve noticed even with older kids it’s important to have plenty of snacks when taking trips. I find that they can get bored quite easily so building a list of games to play with each other is a good idea too. Oh and having some form of electronic is not always bad either.

Our daughter is getting to the age where my wife and I are going to need something like this for the long trips that we are planning on taking. Right now we were thinking of just doing ice cub trays, however, the LGP’s seem much more user friendly and less of a mess if the contents melt along the way.

We always make sure to bring the snack foods we know our son will ask for when we travel. I pack enough fruit pouches, pretzels, and fruit leather in my checked luggage for the duration of our trip, and I always ask him to help pack his lunch box so he gets to choose the snacks he wants to have too. Having him participate in the decision making and packing really helps him get into the excitement of the trip and has made our travels with him really easy!

always have extra snacks because the one time you don’t, your kid magically won’t like what you brought :)
