When to Introduce: Consult your pediatrician about the introduction of nuts into your child’s diet
Stars: This recipe combines almonds (high protein), dates (good source of fiber) and bananas (lots of potassium and fiber).
Ingredients:
1 ripe banana (I like to freeze mine ahead of time which makes it taste more like a milkshake!!!!)
1 cup Almond Milk (I use vanilla flavored, unsweetened -- but any variety would do)
2-3 dates (add more or less depending on how sweet you like it -- make sure to remove pits)
5 raw almonds
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Puree. Fill your reusable food pouch with your delicious smoothie.
Servings: Fills approximately 2-3 Little Green Pouches.
Modifications: Substitute regular milk for the almond milk, and instead of raw almonds, add a tablespoon of almond butter.
