When to Introduce: 8 months (younger if you omit the cinnamon)

Stars: Sweet potatoes are high in Vitamin A and beta carotene as well as potassium; sweet potatoes also contain a good amount of Vitamin E, calcium and folate. And apples are a great source of fiber! 

1 yam, peeled 
1 apple or pear, 
3 tbsp apple juice
Dash of cinnamon

Directions: Cut yam into 1" cubes and put in microwave safe bowl.  Add 1/8 cup water and cover tightly with plastic wrap.  Microwave for three minutes.  Cut pear/apple into 1/2" slices. Carefully remove wrap and add to yams.  Microwave for 1 additional minute. Let cool. Add yams, apples, apple juice and a dash of cinnamon (optional) to blender. Blend until smooth.

Servings: Fills about 2 Little Green Pouches
