When to Introduce: 8-10 months (always check with your pediatrician)
Stars: Mangos are loaded with Vitamin A and contain a higher level of carotenoids than almost any other fruit. And bananas contain potassium and fiber. Bananas are also high in Vitamin B6, Vitamin C and Vitamin B2.
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh or frozen mangoes, peeled and cubed
2 large fresh or frozen bananas, peeled
1 1/2 cups whole milk (for babies under 1 year of age, substitute with breast milk or formula)
Directions: Throw all ingredients into a blender and puree until smooth.
Servings: Fills about 3-4 Little Green Pouches
Modifications: Whole milk can be replaced with almond milk, soy milk or juice of your choice.
Notes: We especially love Emily's tip: "If there is leftover puree, add a shot or two of rum and the juice of 2 limes to the blender and blend up a daiquiri for yourself momma. You deserve it!"
