When to Introduce: 12 months (always check with your pediatrician)

Stars:  Quinoa is packed with fiber, calcium, iron and folate. Squash is also high in folate but its also packed full of Vitamin A and Calcium. Tomatoes are high in Vitamin A & C and Carrots are high in beta carotene. 

1 zucchini
1 summer squash
1/4 cup quinoa
1/2 tomato
2 medium carrots
Olive Oil (optional, but good choice if extra calories are needed)

Directions: Steam or boil the zucchini, squash and carrots until tender enough to puree. Rinse Quinoa (or soak for a few minutes) Add 1 cup water to a pot, add the quinoa and bring to a boil and simmer until quinoa has begun to unravel itself.  Puree together the zucchini, squash, tomato and carrots and add the cooked quinoa. 

Servings: Fills about 2-3 Little Green Pouches

Notes:  Liz says that she “adds in olive oil for some extra calories for my bean pole little one."
