Author: Fresh Baby Bites
When to Introduce: 8+ months (always check with pediatrician)
Ingredients:
2 yams
4 florets broccoli
1 tsp. parsley (fresh or dried)
Directions: Place yams on a baking tray and pop them in the oven for about an hour at 400 degrees. While yams are roasting, wash some broccoli under cool water. Chop off the stems and cut the florets into small pieces. We like using florets because they produce smoother purees! Steam florets until tender, either in the microwave or on the stovetop with a little water. Check on the yams, take them out once they’re soft enough to pierce with a fork, and let them cool. Peel the yams and then place them along with the florets and parsley in a food processor. Blend until smooth.
Servings: Fills 2-3 pouches
Stars: One serving of broccoli has more than a day’s worth of the recommended daily intake of Vitamin C! Vitamin C helps the body absorb calcium and iron very efficiently making broccoli one of the most nutrient-rich veggies out there and an essential to baby’s diet.
