Sweet Potatoes and Chickpeas

When to introduce: 6+ months (check with your pediatrician)

Stars: This recipes is packed with nutrients, including beta-carotene and antioxidants from the sweet potato, plus minerals, fiber and healthy carbohydrates from the chickpeas.

Ingredients:
2 large sweet potatoes
1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
3 cups water
Directions:

1. Chop sweet potatoes into 1 inch pieces

2. Add sweet potatoes and chickpeas to crock pot

3. Add enough water to cover chickpeas and potatoes

4. Cook on low for 7-8 hours

5. Mash or puree and fill pouches

 

Servings: Fills approximately 4-6 Pouches
